Why buy an unpainted resin sculpture?
In the model horse hobby, it's common for artists to sell unpainted resin copies of their sculptures to be finished by other artists. Collectors purchase resins they like and send them to artists for finishing, while artists may purchase unpainted resins to paint and then sell to collectors.

Established in 2000, the RESS Sculpture Exhibition offers entrants the opportunity to have their sculptures impartially judged and critiqued. One entry is chosen to receive a prize and is then reproduced in resin financed by RESS. Artists are recommended to incorporate the following elements into their submissions: Overall appeal; anatomic and biomechanic correctness; quality finish; and marketability. The 2008 Sculpture Contest is now open!
