All About RESS

What is RESS?

RESS is a nonprofit organization created to serve the needs of the artist to promote artistic improvement and educational exploration.

The RESS Mission

To encourage excellence in realistic equine sculpture and associated artistry, promote an interactive education-oriented professional community, and broaden artistic opportunities through exhibitions, events, education, demonstration, and critique.

Why Join RESS?

RESS provides a formalized and cohesive community in which members may develop their skills, network with fellow members and explore new opportunities. Yes, this could also be accomplished to some degree through existing means, but RESS has been established to provide a forum focused on specific interests. As such it will foster a cohesive, supportive community in which a member can explore new ideas, techniques and make new contacts.

An emotionally supportive environment such as RESS nurtures artistic skills and motivations which might have ordinarily been pushed aside in the hurry-scurry pace of life. RESS is a community of artists who have joined together to help one another realize their aspirations and artistic explorations in a friendly, enthusiastic and highly innovative environment.

An organization of like interests also serves as a source of artistic inspiration. Anyone can create artwork in isolation, perfecting his/her skills. But as a part of a larger community, an artist is in touch with a wide range of resources and inspirations. The sense of "I'm not the only one facing challenges" is an emotionally safe place from which to expand our artistic comfort zone to include ever more ambitious achievements. The dynamic community of RESS will challenge and encourage your greatest artistic dreams and ideals. When the joy of art is shared, it's quite contagious!

So even though joining an organization is time out of your day, it's time that's being invested in you, your interests, your skills and your quality of life!
